Alhambra

Named after the city in Granada, Spain, Alhambra is a city that lies just south of San Marino, and north of Monterey Park, with San Gabriel to the east and El Sereno bordering the west side of the city.

Many of the single family residential homes in Alhambra are historic Craftsman and Spanish Bungalows, most which are located in north section of Alhambra. There is also a large number of condominiums and rental apartments in the city, with the average age of homeowners younger than the homeowners of surrounding San Marino and South Pasadena.

Downtown Main Street is the cultural center in Alhambra, particulary the intersection of Main Street and Garfield. Downtown Main Street offers dining, entertainment with a selection of movie theatres, Retail, Mixed-use facilities/retail plazas, an auto row district, and a newly planned business/financial district.
