The Historic Fair Oaks Pharmacy and Soda Fountain, South Pasadena

Known for being a safe, quite town with excellent schools, South Pasadena is primarily an upper-middle class city comprised of many historic two-story Craftsman homes. Due to the city council’s constant efforts in preservation, South Pasadena has a small town atmosphere, providing an ideal backdrop for the countless television shows and films that have been shot within the city.

Mission Street serves as the main thoroughfare for The Mission District in South Pasadena, and the main center of the city. With the recent renovations of many of the historic commercial buildings and the opening of the Metro Gold Line Mission Station, The Mission District in South Pasadena has become a center of much culture and flourishing businesses. In addition to the various businesses, including restaurants, wine bars, coffee shops, and boutiques, there is a quaint but busy farmer’s market every Thursday afternoon. Due to the higher quality schools and lower crime stats, the median price of homes in South Pasadena is higher than the adjacent, much larger city of Pasadena.
